FOOD SERVICE/COMMERCIAL KITCHEN CLEANING
Restaurants and other food service establishments face unique commercial kitchen cleaning challenges. By their very nature, kitchens generate high volumes of greasy soils that are very difficult to remove. Just as bad, these soils are tracked through dining areas, restrooms and throughout the facility. The results can be costly, including lost business, dangerous slip-and-fall accidents and more.
STOP THE MOP
Unfortunately, most commercial kitchen cleaning is performed using inadequate tools, like mops, that simply spread soils, contaminants and grease around, removing very little. And they’re painfully slow.
STOP SPREADING AND START REMOVING
For over 15 years, Kaivac has been helping restaurants and other food service providers maintain, clean, safe and healthy facilities that keep their employees safe and their customers coming back.

Kaivac’s systems incorporate the latest soil removal technology, making them ideal for commercial kitchen cleaning. In fact, scientific studies show them to be up to 60 times more effective at reducing bacterial contamination than mops, which are more likely to spread contaminants than remove them. Plus, they ensure fresh solutions and clean rinse water, preventing cross contamination from restrooms to kitchens.
DON’T DRIVE CUSTOMERS AWAY
A recent Harris Poll indicated that 68 percent of restaurant patrons wouldn’t return to a restaurant with dirty floors. And restrooms fared even worse. 86 percent of U.S. adults equate the cleanliness of a restaurant’s restroom with the cleanliness of its kitchen. The survey also revealed that 75 percent of U.S. adults would not return to a restaurant with dirty restrooms.
REDUCE THE RISK OF SLIP-AND-FALL ACCIDENTS
Grease and other contaminants coat kitchen tiles, creating an unsanitary and often dangerously slick surface to work on. Plus, these greasy soils also make their way to the front of the house too.
According to the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI), 55% of all slip-and-fall accidents are directly caused by the floor. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) indentified floors and flooring materials as direct contributors to more than 2 million slip-and-fall injuries each year. And, a single claim can cost an establishment tens of thousands of dollars. Kaivac’s systems have been certified by NFSI for providing high traction.

- Kaivac Receives Kitchen Innovation Award from the National Restaurant AssociationHamilton, OH – February 9, 2012 – The National Restaurant Association has just announced the recipients of their 2012 Kitchen Innovations Award™ presented by the National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show set for its new dates, May 5-8 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. This honor is awarded in recognition of cutting-edge equipment designed for the foodservice market. An independent, expert panel of judges comprised of internationally recognized food facilities consultants, multiunit executives, and design experts was charged with choosing this year’s KI Award recipients. The judges looked for innovative equipment that improves quality, productivity, service, and sustainability in the restaurant industry. Among the Kitchen Innovation Award recipients this year is Kaivac, Inc., who received the honor in recognition of their OmniFlex™ Dispense-and-Vac System. The OmniFlex system dispenses fresh cleaning solution to floors. A brush head is used as needed to loosen and remove soils and contaminants, which are then thoroughly removed using the system’s wet/dry vacuum. According to the judges, floors are left completely dry after being cleaned using this new technology, making them available for immediate use by employees and customers. “This is quite an honor,” says Matt Morrison, Communications Manager for Kaivac.
